Poke Bonnet

Age : 1-3 years
Yarn Phentex > Harmony
Or other other Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi) to achieve same guage
Gauge 20 sts and 40 rows = 4 in
Finished Size Approx.7 ¼ inches tall by 6 ¾ deep;
Needles Size UK 9/ 3.75 mm Circular, Size UK 9/ 3.75 mm straight needles, and Size UK 9/ 3.75 mm dpns,;

Supplies
Crochet hook F-5/ 3.75mm
Scrap yarn
Darning needle,
Hat Body

Cast on 77 Provisional Cast On stitches.
Starting with a knit row,
work back and forth in stocking stitch for 5 inches ending with a purl row.
Next row: Knit stitches onto dpns, join into the round, then begin shaping crown

Shaping Crown
Round 1: *Knit 6 sts, K2tog* around, 49 sts remain;
Round 2,4, and 6: knit all sts;
Round 3: * Knit 5 sts, K2tog* around, 42 sts remain;
Round 5: *Knit 4 sts, K2tog* around 35 sts remain;
Round 7: *Knit 3 sts, K2tog* around 28 sts remain;
Round: 8 *Knit 2 sts, K2tog* around 21 sts remain;
Round 9: *Knit 1 st, K2tog* around, 14 sts remain;
Round 10: *K2tog* around, 7 sts remain;
Cut yarn and pass through remaining 7 sts, pull tight. Secure yarn.

Brim
Go to front edge with Provisional Cast On stitches. Unpick the fastening at the end of the crocheted chain, unravel chain.

Carefully place your live stitches on a circular knitting needle as they become exposed
Knit in front and back of all stitches (154 stitches) turn
Rib stitch to end of row, turn
Continue with rib stitch for 2 inches

Cast off with Stretchy Bind Off or Peggy's Stretchy Bind Off

Neck Band
On your circular, cast on 50 st with Long-Tail Cast On,
With wrong side facing you pick up stitches starting with edge f brim continuing along the neck edge until you reach the center back of hat.Count the number if stitches you pick up and Pick up the same number on the other side of the center back to the other brim edge.
Cast on 50 more stitches with Knit Cast On method. Turn

Knit, (Knit Cast On) stitches, then stitches picked up along bottom edge and finally the Long-Tail Cast On stitches. Knit 2 more rows in garter stitch, bind off. well.

Colour  bone Dye lot 46
Yarn Loops & Threads Impeccable Solids
536 yards, 256 grams 2 skeins = 536.0 yards (490.1m)
Colour Chocolate

After the basic pattern has been created choose which of your two yarn Colours you will start with. This will be your “background Colour” The other Colour will be the “pattern Colour”. We’ll call them “Colour 1” and “Colour 2”. For this set Colour 1 will be Chocolate and Colour 2 will be bone.
The trick to shadow knitting is in reading the pattern. Each single row in the pattern represents 4 knitted rows.

Cast on 40 st in Colour 1 Knit 2 rows in Colour 1
